UNIQA Code of Conduct
The group-wide applicable UNIQA Code of Conduct outlines all values and rules that we have committed to uphold and defines the rules of conduct for various areas of our daily work. It governs dealings with customers, business partners and the authorities as well as with employees. The UNIQA Code of Conduct is stricter than the national laws in the countries where the UNIQA Group operates in many respects, and we are consciously going beyond what is required with additional, binding rules – because not everything that is legal is necessarily right. And we comply strictly with these rules.
The UNIQA Code of Conduct establishes clarity. An essential part of these rules is the handling of confidential information and compliance with competition rules. Conflicts of interest, such as secondary employment, are also clarified. Questions concerning the prevention of corruption and money-laundering are answered. Important chapters include those on donations and sponsorships, both given and received, as well as our commitment to the UN Global Compact.
Since joining the UN Global Compact in 2020, we are committed to upholding the United Nations Universal Declaration of Human Rights across the entire UNIQA Group. The ten principles contained in this declaration have been incorporated into the UNIQA Code of Conduct, and progress is continuously reported. These binding rules apply to all stakeholders, especially UNIQA employees – from the board to our apprentices – as well as to customers, investors, and other public actors. No one is exempt.
The UNIQA Code of Conduct is communicated to all employees through the local compliance functions. The content is also a mandatory part of the annual compliance training.
