UNIQA Code of Conduct
The group-wide applicable UNIQA Code of Conduct outlines all values and rules that we have committed to uphold and defines internal standards for ethical behaviour that go beyond the applicable legal requirements, are binding for employees and form the basis for relationships with customers, investors and other public stakeholders.
Based on the UNIQA Guiding Principles, regulations relating to business integrity and ethical principles are summarised here. In addition, the focus is on social and ecological aspects such as manners, human rights and labour standards as well as environmental protection.
An essential part of these rules is the handling of confidential information and compliance with competition rules. Conflicts of interest, such as secondary employment, are also clarified. Questions concerning the prevention of corruption and money-laundering are answered. Important chapters include those on donations and sponsorships, both given and received, as well as our commitment to the UN Global Compact.
Since joining the UN Global Compact in 2020, we are committed to upholding the United Nations Universal Declaration of Human Rights across the entire UNIQA Group. The ten principles contained in this declaration have been incorporated into the UNIQA Code of Conduct, and progress is continuously reported. These binding rules apply to all stakeholders, especially UNIQA employees – from the board to the apprentices – as well as to customers, investors, and other public actors. No one is exempt.
