LIVING BETTER TOGETHER
For a sustainable future
the UNIQA Group wants to achieve net-zero emissions by2050.

Sustainability
We are deeply committed to the 1.5 degrees Celsius target of the Paris Climate Agreement. Our goal is to achieve net-zero emissions in underwriting and our own operations by 2040 in Austria and by 2050 across the Group in all core business areas. We have entered into important strategic partnerships with leading climate networks and have assumed comprehensive reporting obligations. Sustainability is a core element of our UNIQA 3.0 programme for the future and has thus become a non-negotiable criterion in our core business. Only together with our employees, our customers and other stakeholders can we make an effective contribution to a better life and a better world.
Net-zero emissions
Net-zero emissions are defined on the one hand as the best possible reduction of operational greenhouse gas emissions (Scope 1, 2 and 3) to zero or to a residual level that is compatible with achieving net-zero emissions at global or sectoral level in corresponding scenarios or sector pathways within the framework of the 1.5°C climate target pathway. On the other hand, net-zero emissions are definded as the neutralisation of all residual emissions by the net zero target year and all greenhouse gas emissions released into the atmosphere thereafter.
Sustainability reporting
2025 UNIQA is publishing a (Consolidated) Non-Financial Report in accordance with the CSRD (Corporate Sustainability Reporting Disclosure) and the ESRS (European Sustainability Standards) for the first time, which is anchored in the UNIQA Group Report.
