Sustainability Reporting
Sustainability is an important and integral part of our corporate strategy at the UNIQA Group. In 2020, we presented the UNIQA Group’s future programme in the form of UNIQA 3.0 “Seeding the Future”. Since then, we have started work throughout our entire company to align ourselves with the targets it lays down and with a binding climate policy. Our overarching goal is to achieve net-zero emissions in our insurance business and own operations in Austria by 2040 and across all core business areas and group-wide by 2050.We are committed to the Paris Agreement climate target of 1.5 degrees Celsius and are members of important international associations and initiatives.
In the Sustainability Report 2023, we describe the economic, ecological and social effects of our Group-wide corporate activities during the financial year 2023. The Sustainability Report was prepared in accordance with the Standards of the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI).
The Consolidated Non-Financial Report 2023 has been prepared in accordance with the Austrian Sustainability and Diversity Improvement Act (NaDiVeG) (Directive 2014/95/EU) and is published as such in the Group Report 2023 .
From 2025 (for the 2024 reporting year), the UNIQA Group will be required to prepare comprehensive sustainability reporting in accordance with the Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD) and the underlying European Sustainability Reporting Standards (ESRS). This directive significantly expands reporting obligations and requires detailed disclosures about sustainability practices. As a result, this EU directive not only ensures more balanced, transparent, and consistent disclosure of sustainability information but also leads to enhanced sustainability governance. Accordingly, the sustainability report will be integrated into the UNIQA Group management report.
Our sustainability activities and progress are summarized in the UNIQA ESG business card:
